System Requirements for CBTs and Recordings

 

System Requirements for playback of 8.1 and earlier CBTs

• Windows 2000, or XP
• Pentium II
• 128MB RAM
• Internet Explorer 6.0 (SP1 & SP2), Active X enabled
• Macromedia Flash Player 7 or higher
• Minimum Screen resolution of 1024x768
• Color depth/quality set to High 32 bit
• Macromedia Shockwave Player 10 (included with product) or above (Required for CBTs prior to Cognos 8 BI 8.3)

 

System Requirements for playback of 8.3 CBTs

• Pentium III
• 128 MB RAM
• Free Space - 400-450 MB approximately
• 1024 X 768 screen resolution
• Windows 2000, XP, Vista installed on your computer
• Sound card
• Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0
• Firefox 1.5, 2.0
• Macromedia Flash Player 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 or 9.0
• SCORM 1.2 compatible
• Flash Global Security Setting must be set to allow Flash content to use older security rules
• Minimum color depth/quality (monitor settings) of Medium (16-bit)

 

Note for customers running Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007

Some local machines using Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007 might get the following error message during the installation process.

This error is caused by issues related to the Microsoft Office XML MIME Filter (msoxmlmf.dll). The Microsoft Office XML MIME Filter (msoxmlmf.dll) is registered under the registry key:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Protocols\Filter\text/xml

Removing this registry will disable the XML filter and help you install the course. For more details and workaround steps, visit http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841532.htm.

If you are downloading and running locally:

• Windows 2000 or XP
• Pentium II 450MHz or faster processor
• 128MB of RAM
• Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher
• Macromedia Flash Player 7 or higher
• Minimum Screen resolution of 1024x768
• Color depth/quality set to High 32 bit
• Headset (recommended) or speakers

 

If you are running from a Web Server:
(Same requirements as above, plus the following:)

• ActiveX enabled
• Javascript enabled
