ACCOUNT MIGRATION

Over the coming months we will be introducing a new security mechanism, so that you can access secured areas of support.cognos.com with using your email address for your login.

In the meantime, you may have to log in to separate web resources separately. ie. in a single browser session, you may be prompted once to log in to the support web site and once to log in to Cognos Insight! Once you are logged in within that browser session you can switch between the support site resources and Cognos Insight! application as often as you wish without being prompted to log in again. Once you close your browser you will need to log in to each resource that you wish to access once again.

If you would like to migrate your account now, please click here. Otherwise, you will be asked to migrate your account some time over the next few months, as we migrate more areas of the site into the new security mechanism.


NEW USERS

If you are not a registered support contact for your organization, you should request your organization’s Primary support contact to register you.

If you do not know who your Primary support contact is, you should first contact your own organization’s technical help desk as they often have a designated Cognos support contact themselves. Alternatively, you may telephone your local Cognos customer support center during business hours and one of our customer service representatives will be pleased to help you make contact with your Primary support contact. You can find the contact details for your local Cognos customer support center on the web at http://support.cognos.com/en/support/about/contact.html.

COMPANY ACCOUNT ADMINISTRATION

Your organization's designated Primary support contact is responsible to administer all support contacts and web logins within your organization. The "My Company's User Administration" demo is available and is intended for the Primary support contact to introduce our new user profile management tool, Cognos Insight! This demonstration will show you:

    • Setting up a new user and emailing them their new password.
    • Submitting a service request to nominate a new secondary support contact, modify the entitlement to technical support for an existing secondary support contact, or remove entitlement from a contact who should no longer have access to technical support.
    • Updating details for existing users.
    • Resetting the password for a user and automatically emailing them a new one

LOGIN AND PROFILE MANAGEMENT

Profile Management

Use Cognos Insight! to perform the follow Profile Management tasks:

    • Reset password
    • Update contact information
    • Manage communications preferences (ie. email subscriptions)

     

The "My Profile" demo is available to introduce you to our new Profile Management tool, Cognos Insight! this demo is intended for all Cognos Insight! users and show you:

    • The contact information recorded about you in Cognos Insight!
    • How to make updates that will keep your contact information current.

Login Troubleshooting Checklist

    • Are you entering your password using the correct case?
    • Forgot your password? If you have migrated your login to your email address, use our Password Reset. Otherwise, email us at cogcsslo@ca.ibm.com, and include your login id and Cognos customer number.
    • Has your support contract expired? Contact Support Renewal.
    • Are you supported by a third-party?

Password Reset

If you have forgotten your password, and your login id has been migrated your email address, use our Password Reset.

Your company's Primary can also reset your password for you.

If you have not yet migrated your login and need your password reset, contact us for assistance. Please ensure you include your login id and your customer number in your email.
