I've installed the toolkit, but cannot launch the tool. Who do I contact?

Log a Support request here*.

When I open the .zip file to install the toolkit, it is empty?

When the "File Download" dialog appears select "Save" then run the executable to install the toolkit. Do not "Open" the download from this page. When extracting these files, confirm the option "Use folder names" is checked.

I've double-clicked on the .epk file to launch the toolkit, but nothing happens.

From the Startup menu, click on Cognos Methodology and then Cognos Methodology Editor Edition. After logging in, the Welcome dialog appears. Click on Unload Packaged Map and then select the .epk file.

I need help navigating through the toolkit.

Review the Quick Start and Cognos SIM Overview guides, which can be accessed from within the toolkit at the main page in the Overview box.

I need some clarification on how to use a certain methodology document. Who do I contact?

Contact your local Cognos Services Manager. If they cannot provide you the information you require, log a request here*.

How do I modify the Cognos SIM to customize it for a project?

Look at the Online Manual, which is under the Help Menu in the toolkit.

I'm trying to use the toolkit to map a process that's outside of the Cognos SIM, and I need help.

The software that powers the Cognos Methodology is supported only as it relates to the Cognos methodology. If you want information on using the software beyond what we support, refer to the Tutorial (under the Help menu). If you want further information or assistance, contact Nimbus at support@nimbuspartners.com. Or browse their Web site at www.nimbuspartners.com.

I'm getting an error when I try to open .pdf documents from within the toolkit.

You need Adobe Acrobat Reader software installed, version 7.0 or higher.

Will installing Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 interfere with my other installed Adobe Acrobat software (Standard, Professional, etc., for authoring)?

No. You can install Reader in the required (higher) version, and still use your older version Acrobat authoring software.

I'm trying to create an MSProject Plan. Which fields in the Editor translate to fields in MSProject?

Look in the online Help under MSProject Export.
